Speech & Language Therapy

We work closely with a number of schools in London, offering speech and language therapy services with the added benefit of being able to work alongside the child’s teachers and teaching assistants. Depending on the child’s needs, the sessions can take place in the classroom where the child can receive support within the classroom routine, or one-to-one support can be provided in a quieter environment within the school. Our therapists collaborate with SENCos, teachers and teaching assistants to write joint EHCP targets, differentiate curriculum for children with significant needs, and provide support and training to staff members working with the child. Additionally, we offer free speech and language screenings for these schools to help identify children who would benefit from further support.

Occupational Therapy

We offer occupational therapy (OT) services in schools by providing screenings, observation sessions, assessments, direct intervention, and consultancy services. We work in partnership with the student’s family, teachers, and relevant school professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for the student’s individual needs. The focus of intervention is based on functional and meaningful school-related activities, which aims at improving attention/concentration, fine and gross motor skills, visual perception, self-care skills, or any underlying sensory processing abilities. Materials for therapy can be adapted from the classroom setting to facilitate repetition of intervention strategies by other workers. We encourage and offer our services at the student’s annual review to discuss their OT goals and how to incorporate them into their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).

Group or Paired Sessions

School groups support children to develop their social communication, language and interaction skills within the school environment. Your child and their classmates will work together in a group, facilitated by one of our wonderful speech and language therapists. This allows for their speech and language therapy targets to be worked on within their everyday environment, which supports greater generalisation of skills.

Inset Training

We offer a variety of training days and packages for schools and nurseries written and delivered by our expert team of speech and language, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts based on our vast experiences and the most up-to-date findings from the field of clinical research.

Our training packages, as with all of our therapy sessions, are delivered with a sprinkle of fun, heaps of enthusiasm and are grounded in the research-based evidence.

Our training can be adapted to suit the needs of the staff and the specifics of the educational environment. We currently have the following training packages developed:

• Supporting speech and language development across the curriculum
• What to look for and what to do when you are concerned about speech and language development
• Working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) throughout the school day
• Supporting social interaction and play skills in children throughout the day
• Working with children with English as an Additional Language
• Managing challenging behaviors
